The megalithic site of Rante Sirrin is located in village of Parinding, Sesean sub-district, North Toraja. There are dozens of menhirs of various sizes have been erected in this rante (field where death ceremonies).
Located ± 5 km from the city of Rantepao, this menhir complex is easily accessible because it is right on the edge of the Tallunglipu – Bori’ road. Simbuang batu or menhir is one of the most important essences in the ritual of the highest level of death or rapasan level. This level of rapasan requires the sacrifice of at least 24 buffaloes.
The most interesting thing is that in the midst of modernization, the megalithic tradition continues in Toraja.
